USM13 was the result of a year of ambitious engineering with a substantial concept change from the 2012 car. Balancing the experience of previous years against the team's innovative redesign of most car systems, the team stuck to its established ethos of low-cost, lightweight and reliable engineering design.
This high-risk strategy produced some outstanding results for the team, which included winning the Cost and Sustainability Event at FSUK and a top 20 finish at FSG.
